Q

I'm working on a pharmacogenomics assignment for pharmacy lab. How do I get to the resources?

I need to use Lexi-Comp, Facts and Comparisons, Micromedex, AHFS, and ePocrates.

Answer

We're getting a lot of questions about how to get to the resources used in your pharmacogenomics homework assignment.  Here's the skinny:

Go to the Pharmacy page from HSL (http://guides.lib.unc.edu/pharmacy). Lexi-Comp and Facts & Comparisons are listed here and available for anyone to use on or off-campus. Micromedex will work on the Chapel Hill and Elizabeth City (lab computer) campuses only.

You have to register your laptop or smartphone to get to Micromedex when not in Chapel Hill (on campus).  Instructions for registering your mobile device are at http://guides.lib.unc.edu/mobileinstructions. If you are at the Elizabeth City or Asheville campuses, please check the PHCY 402 password-proctected Blackboard site or contact the HSL to get the URL, username, and password.

AHFS Drug Information is located on the "Books & Journals" tab of the Pharmacy page.

ePocrates Free Online edition is available on the internet at https://online.epocrates.com/. You will have to do a (free) registration.
