We asked the Style Experts at APA this question.  This is the format they want us to use to cite Up to Date articles:

Marion, D.W. (2013). Diaphragmatic pacing. In T. W. Post (Ed.), UpToDate. Retrieved from http://www.uptodate.com/home

  1. Thank you, but UpToDate articles usually have both a Section Editor(s) and Deputy Editor(s). How do you cite different types of editor? Here is some info on citing for multiple editors. http://lib.dmu.edu/db/uptodate/cite

  2. I recommend using the Section Editor, but here is a link to APA Help - perhaps they can answer your question: http://www.apastyle.org/apa-style-help.aspx
