How do I access PubMed from off campus?

PubMed is a freely available database, but if you want to see links to the Health Sciences Library journals in PubMed, you should always link to PubMed from a library website, even when you are on campus.

On the HSL homepage you can enter a PubMed search in the search box in the center of the page.

After you enter a search in PubMed you need to look at the results in Abstract view. Either use the Display Settings drop-down options in the upper left under the search box or click on an individual article title.

In Abstract view you sill see the blue Find @ UNC button that links to a page with a number of options for finding Health Sciences Library content.

When you are off campus, the first time you click on a link to a full-text article you will be asked to enter your Onyen / Password.

Let us know if you have any problems with access to full-text articles.
